Some foreign nationals may enter Serbia without a Serbian visa if they hold a visa or residence permit from certain countries

Published: 13.04.2026

Foreign nationals holding a valid Schengen, UK, EU or US visa, or a residence permit from the Schengen Area, the EU or the US, may enter, transit or stay in Serbia for up to 90 days in a six-month period. Those staying longer must apply for a Single/Unified Permit before the 90-day period expires; visa-free status does not authorize employment.

According to sources, holding an eligible visa or residence permit from a third country allows a person to begin a stay in Serbia without first obtaining a Serbian visa, making short visits and relocation preparation easier. Anyone planning to remain longer than 90 days must rely on a Single/Unified Permit and submit the application before the visa-free period expires. The rule is most relevant to nationals who would otherwise need a Serbian visa and to people visiting for meetings or relocation planning. It is worth checking before travel, but the visa-free status itself does not authorize employment.
