From 24 October 2026, citizens of visa-free countries will be required to obtain an electronic entry permit, while visa-free stay limits will remain unchanged. The system will be introduced in stages from November 2026 through March 2027; until 1 July 2027, the absence of a permit will not be grounds for refusing entry.
According to the source, visa-free travelers will need to apply through a digital platform at least 72 hours before entry, complete identification, and present the same passport at the border. The permit will be free and valid for 180 days, but the key change for frequent travelers is the new pre-travel document rather than a reduction in the permitted stay. The rule primarily affects nationals of visa-free countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, EU countries, Türkiye, India and Iran; visa, temporary-residence and residence-permit holders are exempt. People planning a move or their first trips after rollout should monitor the implementation stage and allow time for the application.
