From 1 July 2026, foreigners from countries allowing stays of up to 90 days must register with the internal affairs authorities no later than the 30th calendar day after entry. Registration will be handled through an information system with confirmation by the host party; after changing address, it must be completed again within five business days.
In practice, short-term visa-free visitors will face a separate registration obligation that should not be treated as merely the host party’s arrival notification. People planning to stay for a month or longer will need the host—such as a landlord or hotel—to confirm their address in the information system, and they must repeat the procedure after moving. The rule is especially relevant to visa-free foreigners and anyone changing accommodation during a stay. According to the sources, this is a long-term administrative procedure, so it should be included in relocation planning from 1 July 2026.
