Foreigners’ Arrival Must Be Reported in Kazakhstan Within Three Business Days

Published: 16.09.2026

The host party—such as a hotel, property owner, or organization—must notify the migration authorities of a foreigner’s arrival within three business days, including after a change of address. Separate mandatory registration for foreigners has been abolished; notification by the host party is sufficient for this procedure.

According to sources, the key arrival and relocation obligation lies with the host party rather than the foreigner: notification must be filed within three business days. This reduces the amount of paperwork newcomers must handle themselves, but makes it important to confirm that the hotel, landlord, or other host has completed the procedure. Violations may result in fines for the host party. The rule is particularly relevant to short-term visitors, tenants, and people changing addresses, who should factor it into their arrival and accommodation planning.
