Denpasar immigration authorities deported six nationals of Canada, New Zealand, and India for violating Indonesian law and stay-permit conditions. The authorities recommended entry bans ranging from five to ten years or for life; the final duration will be decided by the Directorate General of Immigration.
The sources show that overstaying in Indonesia can lead not only to deportation but also to a multi-year or lifetime entry ban. One case involved an expired VoA, while other cases involved overstays of 30 to 70 days. For people relocating to Indonesia, this reinforces the need to extend status or leave before the permit expires, as financial difficulties do not remove immigration obligations. The development is most relevant to short-term visitors and foreigners relying on time-limited visas or stay permits.
