UAE Introduces E-Visa for GCC Residents

Published: 31.07.2026

Residents of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia can apply online for a UAE e-visa before travelling. The permit allows a stay of up to 30 days and may be extended once for another 30 days; the fee is Dh250 plus 5% VAT.

According to the source, applicants need a GCC residence permit with at least one year of validity remaining, a passport valid for at least six months and an eligible profession. Approval must be obtained before travel, with applications submitted through GDRFA Dubai or the ICP platform for other emirates. The change makes short-term entry easier for expatriates already living in GCC countries, but it does not replace long-term UAE residence or automatically authorise employment. It is particularly relevant to people planning an initial visit to arrange housing, seek work or pursue another residence pathway.
