Residents who were outside the UAE and whose residence permits expired on or after 28 February 2026 because of airspace closures or flight suspensions were allowed to return without applying for a new entry visa. The measure was valid from 28 February through 31 March 2026 and allowed them to regularise their status without related penalties.
The source describes a temporary exception for existing residents who could not return because of restrictions on air travel. It allowed them to enter without a new visa and regularise their status in the UAE, reducing the risk of additional costs and prolonged family separation. Since the measure ended on 31 March 2026, it should not be treated as a current entry route for new travel. It was primarily relevant to residents and their families stranded abroad during the flight disruptions.
