Nationals of Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya, and South Africa who hold valid residence permits in certain countries are now eligible for a UAE visa on arrival for 14 or 60 days. The change was announced on June 25, 2026, by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security.
According to sources, nationals of six countries who hold qualifying residence permits abroad now have a simpler route for short-term entry to the UAE through a visa on arrival. This can reduce advance paperwork for business visits, employee travel, and accompanying family members, provided the foreign residence permit meets the applicable conditions. The change is most relevant to citizens of the listed countries living outside the UAE who travel there regularly. They should verify whether their specific residence permit qualifies, as the arrangement does not automatically cover every national of those countries.
