Applications for Spain’s extraordinary regularisation can be submitted from 16 April to 30 June 2026, online or in person by appointment. Applicants must prove that they were in Spain before 1 January 2026, remained there continuously for at least five months and have no criminal record; the residence and work authorisation is initially valid for one year.
According to sources, the programme is aimed at foreigners already in Spain without regular status and at international-protection applicants who filed before 1 January 2026. Once the application is admitted for processing, applicants can legally reside and work anywhere in Spain and in any sector, receive a Social Security number and, after a favourable decision, must apply for a TIE within one month. Required evidence includes a passport or other recognised identity document, proof of presence and continuous residence, and criminal-record certificates; some applicants must also show employment, qualifying family circumstances or vulnerability. This is highly relevant to migrants and families already in Spain, but it is not a route for people planning to move from abroad, and the application deadline is 30 June 2026 while the initial authorisation lasts one year.
