Singapore entry requirements include the SG Arrival Card and short-term stay rules

Published: 29.09.2026

Foreign travellers, with limited exceptions for transit passengers and some residents, must submit the free SG Arrival Card within three days before arrival. Entry also requires an individually issued travel document with at least six months of passport validity and, where applicable, a visa; business, professional and paid work are prohibited under a Short-Term Visit Pass.

According to ICA, travellers must submit the SG Arrival Card before arrival, and failure to do so may lead to refusal of entry; passports generally need at least six months of validity. The card is free, but it adds a mandatory digital step to travel preparation. This is particularly relevant for tourists, business visitors and people considering an initial short stay, since a Short-Term Visit Pass does not allow employment or professional activity. Anyone planning a long-term relocation should treat this as a preliminary entry requirement rather than a substitute for a residence or work pass.
