Foreigners planning to perform seasonal work in Poland for more than three months must apply for a temporary residence permit before their current lawful stay expires. The procedure requires, among other documents, proof of a seasonal work visa or visa-free entry, a seasonal work permit, income, health insurance and accommodation.
The procedure allows a seasonal worker to remain lawfully in Poland while the application is pending, provided it was filed on time and without formal deficiencies. The permit is granted for the validity period of the seasonal work permit, but for no longer than nine months from the first entry under the visa or visa-free regime in the relevant calendar year. This directly affects non-EU nationals coming to Poland for seasonal employment lasting more than three months, who must prepare evidence of work, income, insurance and accommodation. It deserves attention from anyone planning to stay beyond the expiry of their visa or visa-free period, especially because an application for the wrong type of permit will not be considered.
