Kyrgyzstan has updated the registration rules for foreign nationals and stateless persons after entry. For citizens of a number of countries, the registration-free period has been reduced from 60 to 30 days; registration is tied to the actual address of stay and the document used for entry.
According to sources, registration must now be completed no later than the final day of the permitted registration-free stay, and extensions require a document confirming the right to remain in the country. Ten working days are allowed for re-registration after a change of passport, address, purpose of stay or other relevant details. The rules are especially important for citizens of countries moved to the 30-day registration-free period, as well as for workers, students and people planning a long-term stay. Anyone relocating should factor these deadlines into their arrival and housing plans, since non-compliance may complicate further stay and document processing.
