From 1 July 2026, Kyrgyz citizens entering Russia under the visa-free CIS regime will need to register in the RuID app, provide travel details and biometric data, and obtain a QR code. Applications generally must be submitted at least 72 hours before crossing the border.
According to Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Labor, citizens traveling to Russia will face an additional pre-entry digital procedure involving registration, biometrics, and a QR code. This primarily affects Kyrgyz citizens traveling for work, study, or other purposes and requires preparation before crossing the border. Professional international drivers are also reported to receive a temporary-stay limit of up to 180 days per calendar year if they follow the prescribed procedure. Anyone relocating to or frequently traveling to Russia should factor the registration and lead time into their travel planning.
