Georgia sets additional requirements for a new IT-sector residence permit

Published: 24.11.2025

The new IT-sector residence permit requires at least two years of experience and annual income of at least USD 25,000. The permit is valid for three years and may be renewed for up to 12 years for eligible applicants.

According to a specialist legal source, IT professionals have a separate long-term residence route with formal experience and income thresholds. It may be useful for applicants who meet the criteria because the initial permit lasts three years and can be renewed for an extended period. At the same time, the requirements exclude applicants without demonstrable experience or annual income of at least USD 25,000. IT professionals should consider this route when choosing a relocation basis and preparing supporting documents.
