Cyprus sets requirements for employing third-country nationals in foreign-interest companies

Published: 20.03.2026

A third-country national employed by a foreign-interest company must hold a temporary residence and employment permit. The requirements include a minimum gross salary of €2,500 per month, relevant qualifications or at least two years of experience, a contract of at least two years and, where applicable, a labour-market test; the stated processing time is one month.

According to the Migration Department, relocation through a foreign-interest company requires compliance with both immigration and employment conditions. Applicants must plan to document the salary level, qualifications or experience, contract duration and the employer’s eligibility. The stated one-month examination period applies to the relevant applications, while a labour-market test may add another step. This is particularly important for non-EU specialists planning to move through a Cypriot employer.
