From 7 July 2026, third-country nationals can submit online renewal applications for selected categories of temporary residence permits. The service allows applicants to upload documents, pay fees, track applications and choose where to provide biometrics and collect the new permit.
According to a government source, renewal of permits for employed and domestic workers, employees of foreign-interest companies, family members and long-term residents is moving largely online. For people relocating to Cyprus, this reduces in-person visits and makes it easier to track an application, although biometrics and other legally required steps still require physical attendance. The change primarily affects third-country nationals already living legally in Cyprus, as well as their employers and families. It is worth noting when planning renewal deadlines because applications can now be started remotely through gov.cy.
