The Milli Majlis adopted at first reading amendments to the Migration Code concerning the registration of foreign diplomatic mission and international organisation staff and their accompanying family members. Where their temporary stay exceeds 15 days, registration would be handled by the relevant executive authority, with a registration card issued through the Entry-Exit and Registration system.
According to sources, diplomatic staff, international organisation personnel and their families would receive a more formal registration procedure for stays exceeding 15 days. The process would connect registration, issuance of a registration card and transmission of data to the unified migration information system. The change mainly affects diplomatic missions, international organisations and accompanying family members, rather than ordinary tourists or labour migrants. It is worth monitoring for people relocating to Azerbaijan under a diplomatic or special mission.
