From 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2027, Japanese and South Korean citizens holding ordinary passports may enter Azerbaijan visa-free for tourism. They may make up to three entries during the period, with each stay limited to 30 days; stays exceeding 15 days require registration.
According to the source, Japanese and South Korean citizens now have temporary simplified access to short-term travel to Azerbaijan. A visa is not required for a tourist stay of up to 30 days, but registration is required when the stay exceeds 15 days. The regime does not replace a visa for non-tourist purposes or longer stays, so applicants planning to relocate will still need the relevant permission. The change is worth noting for visitors and people making a preliminary relocation trip, but it does not itself create a residence-permit route.
