Foreign nationals and stateless persons working remotely for foreign clients in digital technology, AI, cybersecurity and related fields will be able to obtain a business visa and residence status through technopark residency. Requirements include tax registration, stable foreign-source income and compliance with the stated criteria; residence permits may be issued for up to three years and extended.
According to the sources, from 1 January 2027 digital nomads will have a formal legalization route through technopark residency: entry, a business visa, tax registration and an application for technopark status. Applicants will need to prove foreign-source income for the previous six months, work in an eligible field and report their activity regularly; one source sets the income threshold at no less than 13 minimum wages per month. The regime is particularly relevant to remote professionals who want to live in Azerbaijan without establishing a company, as well as their spouses and minor children. It deserves close attention from anyone planning a long-term relocation in the technology sector because it changes the immigration route, tax position and access to related benefits.
