Residence-Lawfulness Rules Published for EAEU Workers

Published: 29.09.2026

EAEU citizens working in Armenia do not need a work permit and may obtain a certificate confirming the legality of their stay. Family members can receive a certificate based on the worker’s document, which also helps avoid administrative liability when crossing the border after stays exceeding 180 days.

According to the Migration Service, EAEU workers rely on a certificate confirming lawful residence rather than a separate work permit. The validity of family members’ certificates is linked to the working family member’s document, making the paperwork relevant for accompanying relatives as well. The rule primarily affects citizens of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan who work in Armenia or relocate with their families. Those planning to stay long term should arrange the certificate in advance because it is used for further rights and border crossings.
